Phil Honoré Appointed Executive Director & President of The "I Have A Dream" Foundation-Dallas

DALLAS - July 28, 2023 - PRLog -- "I Have A Dream Foundation" - Dallas (IHDF-Dallas) is pleased to announce Phillip G. Honoré as its new Executive Director and President. Most recently, Mr. Honoré served as the Executive Director of the nonprofit The West End Association. He is an accomplished leader with over thirty years of professional experience in project management and organizational leadership, as well as an impressive track record in law enforcement, serving as a Deputy Director at the DC Metropolitan Police Department and a Special Agent at the Department of Defense Pentagon. His ability to foster collaborative relationships in both the public and private sectors within the City of Dallas makes him the perfect fit to lead the "I Have A Dream" Foundation - Dallas affiliate. Phil received his postsecondary education at Bowie State University and the University of North Florida. He is a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

IHDF-Dallas is an independent affiliate of the national "I Have A Dream" Foundation, IHDF-Dallas has served more than 2,000 Dallas area youth since its founding in 1987. "I Have A Dream" provides long-term, comprehensive educational support services, including after-school and summer programming, academic enrichment and support, mentorship, family engagement, social-emotional learning, civic engagement and leadership opportunities, post-secondary preparation, and a guaranteed post-secondary scholarship. In keeping with its promise to support students "from first grade to a first job," IHDF-Dallas began recruiting 30 new Dreamers at Maple Lawn Elementary this spring, and will work with the same group of students (and their families) through their high school graduation and beyond.

The "I Have A Dream" Foundation's mission is to empower children from under-resourced communities to succeed in school, college, and career by providing long-term academic, social, and emotional support and the promise of guaranteed post-secondary scholarship assistance. The national organization was founded in 1981 by entrepreneur Eugene Lang and has impacted the lives of more than 20,000 students in nine states and New Zealand.
