Follow on Google News | Pace University Business Major Lands NFTE Internship for Hands-on LearningBy: Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship Since 2009, Pace University's Helene and Grant Wilson Center has funded full-time, paid summer internships for up to 15 Pace University students. They work for eight consecutive weeks between June and September in New York social enterprises and nonprofit organizations like NFTE. "NFTE offers its students and interns experiential learning experiences that help them see a clearer path toward their future goals," said Robert Piercey, Regional Director for NFTE Mid-Atlantic. "Michail was helpful in the field and with helping to plan our regional youth entrepreneurship challenge and summer programming. Hopefully he leaves the internship feeling motivated to consider entrepreneurship and social impact work as career choices." The business administration major from upstate New York said he enjoyed the opportunity to explore business concepts from the entrepreneurship education angle. "What I'm taking from this experience is how to operate in a business setting," said Richards, a graduate of St. Catharine High School. "It broadened my knowledge on entrepreneurship and NFTE. It was mind-blowing to me, and I was impressed when I went to the regionals. I had so much fun watching everyone present their business pitches. I was really blown away by what NFTE is doing for young kids." Richards is considering pursuing a master's degree and a career in the farming industry.
