All It Takes releases 'Meeting the Moment' a film series on mental health crisis in schools

The short film series is a sequel to 2020's award-winning film, "A Trusted Space: Redirecting Grief to Growth"

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Aug. 22, 2023 - PRLog -- To better support students' and educators' mental health through the growing social-emotional crisis exacerbated by the pandemic, All It Takes — a nonprofit that equips youth and the adults who serve them with essential emotional intelligence skills — has released the first installment of "A Trusted Space: Meeting the Moment," a short film series accompanied by resources and training guides, to coincide with the start of the 2023-24 school year.

This six-part docu-training series is a sequel to All It Takes' award-winning 2020 film, "A Trusted Space: Redirecting Grief to Growth." "Meeting the Moment" was made possible by the CalHOPE Schools Initiative. The series aims to address the exhaustion, behavioral challenges and academic decline happening in the education system to turn this moment of crisis into an opportunity to foster resilience and healing in the lives of students.

Between August 2023 and October 2023, All It Takes will release two films each month, one designed to reach students and one designed to reach the adults who serve them. The six films will collectively assist students and school staff in understanding the urgent social, emotional and mental health issues they are facing. The series will also equip all members of the school community with evidence-informed tools that can be easily adopted and readily adapted to build trusted learning environments in an effort to better support emotional well-being and academic performance.

"Mental health is a rising issue," said Lori Woodley-Langendorff, founder of All It Takes. "For us, it's not just about hope, but about meeting the moment and seizing the opportunity to create trusted spaces. It's about what we can do to tackle these problems together."

These short films will offer first-person experiences, actionable tips and effective tools designed to foster resilience and healthy decision-making in times of challenge and crisis.

Each film is free to access and will be accompanied by no-cost resources and training guides, which lay out an easy-to-implement program that will support both adults and youth in education. These resources have been developed to teach self-awareness, self-regulation, positive decision-making and coping mechanisms, as well as to equip educators with the knowledge they need to use their roles in the classroom to create environments where healing can happen naturally.

All films in the "A Trusted Space: Meeting the Moment" docu-training series will be free to access via www.allittakes.org/atrustedspace and https://www.calhopeschools.org/atrustedspace.
