SHEFFIELD, U.K. - Sept. 21, 2023 - PRLog -- Explore how you and your children can get more active by celebrating Move More September with Twinkl.

Getting active this September

Move More September is an initiative created to encourage everyone to "Move More" throughout September whilst fundraising where possible to make an impactful change in the lives of the children and adults.

This month also explores how Physical Education is a key component within children's educational journey.

The impact of Physical Education for children

Physical Education can have numerous benefits for children's development  that will support them throughout various stages of their lives.

A recent report from Kids Health conducted in 2022, showed that physical activity breaks up monotony within the classroom, gets children excited to participate, and allows them to get their energy out. Whilst also offering physical, social, and emotional benefits that long-term could enhance their social and mental well-being.

Physical Education was shown to contribute towards four key outcomes, including:
  • Physical benefits
  • Relationship-building and cooperative skills
  • Improved mental health
  • Positive effects on learning

The report also stated that children engaging in regular physical activity were less likely to develop health issues later in life, such as Type 2 diabetes. It was indicated that regular exercise encourages strong bones, a healthy body weight, and even enables better sleep.
