Empowering Breast Cancer Warriors

NOTTINGHAM, U.K. - Oct. 2, 2023 - PRLog -- Carsington Water, 21^st-23^rd October — Alexandra Perry and Melanie Luxton-Brookes two remarkable breast cancer survivors who have triumphed over adversity, are set to inspire, and empower fellow warriors with an extraordinary event. This October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they are thrilled to announce the "Warrior Weekend Retreat," an unforgettable experience designed to challenge, heal, and make a meaningful impact.

The Challenge:

Breast cancer survivors are no strangers to challenges, but this weekend, they're taking on a new one. The Warrior Weekend Retreat will see a group of determined women embarking on a 15km trek around the scenic Carsington Waters in Derbyshire. Come rain or shine, these breast cancer warriors are ready to test their endurance and celebrate their resilience.

• Sunrise Trek: As dawn breaks over the breathtaking Derbyshire Dales, our breast cancer warriors will set out on an invigorating trek through the stunning landscape. The sunrise symbolizes hope and new beginnings, a fitting backdrop for the resilience displayed by these breast cancer survivors.
• Stand-Up Paddleboarding: After conquering the trails, it's time to conquer the water! Participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at stand-up paddleboarding, an activity that embodies balance, focus, and the strength to stay afloat, mirroring their journey through breast cancer.

Supporting Charity:The Warrior Weekend Retreat isn't just about personal challenges; it's about giving back. Alex and Melanie are raising funds for the "Little Lifts" breast cancer charity. This incredible organization provides care packages and gifts to women undergoing treatment for breast cancer, offering comfort and support during their battle.

Alex: A two-time breast cancer survivor, Alex has faced numerous grueling surgeries and treatments. As a survivor herself, she knows the strength it takes to face breast cancer head-on. Not content with simply surviving, she has turned her experience into a powerful force for good. Alongside planning this incredible retreat, Alex is also dedicated to supporting and lifting (quite literally) her fellow warriors through her brand, H.E.R Bodywear which is creating specially designed, self-esteem-boosting post-surgery bras for those undergoing treatment.

Mel: Another inspiring breast cancer survivor whose resilience led her to create Lady Survivors Swimwear. Mel's aim is to support women going through similar challenges and is dedicated to empowering women to embrace their bodies and their strength.
