Fairview HK: The Apple iPhone 15 Launch Was 'Mildly Disappointing

CENTRAL, Hong Kong - Oct. 4, 2023 - PRLog -- The iPhone 15 series has just minor technological enhancements over the existing iPhone 14 family. The iPhone 15 is available in four variants, same to last year's lineup: two basic models and two premium models.

The most upgrades were made to the high-end iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max devices. They include Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing's (TSM) newest processor, the A17, which is manufactured at a 3-nanometer scale.

The Pro versions receive a new look as well, with a titanium frame and a programmable "action button." The action button replaces the ring-silent switch and can be programmed to launch the camera, voice memos, and other applications.

The iPhone 15 will be available next week.

The new cellphones will be released on September 22nd, with preorders beginning this Friday.

The entry-level versions, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, are priced at $799 and $899, respectively, in line with their predecessors. The iPhone 15 Pro begins at $999, which is the same as the equivalent model from last year.

The top-of-the-line iPhone 15 Pro Max, on the other hand, sees a $100 price rise as well as an increase in storage capacity. It begins at $1,199. The iPhone 15 Pro Max's standout feature is its 5-times optical zoom camera with a tetraprism lens.

At the presentation on Tuesday, Apple also unveiled the Apple Watch Series 9 smartwatches. These wearables will also be available on September 22.

"Overall, we view the event as mildly disappointing given bulls were looking for a price increase on the iPhone Pro model as well as blood pressure monitoring functionality for the Watch," Evercore ISI analyst Amit Daryanani said in a client note.
