American Dog Society Welcomes Dirk Wood to National Board

MEDFORD, N.Y. - Oct. 17, 2023 - PRLog -- American Dog Society (ADS) is excited to announce that Dirk Wood has joined the national board to enhance the organization and bolster our mission. ADS is the first national charity that advocates, educates, and connects dog parents to improve the lives of dogs and reduce the number of surrendered or abandoned dogs.

Dirk serves on the American Dog Society national board as the Chair, helping to organized and grow the charity. Once elected, Dirk Wood joined the board on February 23rd, 2023.

Dirk possesses a twenty-year-plus track record of executive leadership in high-growth technology companies from start-ups to large corporations. Dirk holds a Master of Science from the University of Denver, Executive Certification from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Science from Northern Colorado. Dirk has been married for over 25 years and also has a 5-year-old rescue Vizsla named Pedro.

Dirk Wood is the Chief Executive Officer of IdeaHarbor, an outcome based digital consultancy, that brings deep technical expertise to the table.

ADS's aims to become the leading and most comprehensive information source for dog parents. Fostering partnerships with shelters, rescues, fellow dog charities, veterinarians, groomers, product manufacturers, and retailers to create a collaborative network. To create and manage an educational program for people that are looking to get a dog, just got a dog, or people looking to refresh their dog knowledge. Currently, 20% of all dogs adopted end up back at a shelter within the first year. ADS's educational course is designed to reduce that number and save thousands of dogs from going into shelters.
