The Villages of Hope Presents Light Her Way at The Yards

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Oct. 26, 2023 - PRLog -- Join The Villages of Hope on November 8^th for their 3^rd annual celebration of their mission to provide a safe place for women, freed from human trafficking situations in Jacksonville, to live, to connect with a community of care and receive unconditional love.

About the Event

During this heartwarming event, The Villages of Hope will raise awareness about what human trafficking looks like in Jacksonville, Florida, and why The Villages of Hope was created. They will also share how people can get involved to help their mission even further. Most importantly, the event will be a celebration for how far they have come and where they are headed in 2024. There will be food, drinks, auction, and live music by Who Rescued Who. Tickets can be purchased for $125 each at the link below.

Human Trafficking / Sex Trafficking Nationally & Locally

Ninety percent (90%) of the women in sex trafficking want to leave the trade but don't have access to jobs and a new life. Florida ranks 3^rd in the nation for sex trafficking with 1,887 women identified in 2019, but there were only 131 beds. Jacksonville ranks 3^rd in the state and 48^th of all cities in the nation. There are 50-75 women rescued in Jacksonville each year, however, housing and recovery resources are inadequate. There are women right now in Jacksonville, FL who want to leave their human trafficking situation, but they don't know if they will have a safe place to sleep tonight.

The Villages of Hope

Through the effort and support of multiple local organizations, The Villages of Hope broke ground late July 2023. They are building 14 tiny homes that will house 28 women seeking a life free from human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and addiction. They will provide complete care for each woman for 2 years.
