The Panacea Financial Foundation Selects Five Outstanding Scholarship Winners for 2023

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Oct. 27, 2023 - PRLog -- Panacea Financial, a division of Primis that provides financial services for doctors through all stages of their education, training and practice, is thrilled to announce that the Panacea Financial Foundation scholarship winners for 2023 have been selected.

The Panacea Financial Foundation is a not-for-profit affiliated with Panacea Financial that aims to expand the ethnic and racial diversity of the medical field. Ethnic and racial minorities are significantly underrepresented in medicine, and this problem is getting worse. For example, 14% of Americans are Black yet they only represent 4% of all physicians¹. By not having a more ethnically and racially diverse physician workforce that better reflects the general population, the quality of care to patients of color and low-income individuals is limited².

The Panacea Financial Foundation received scholarship submissions from across the country that were evaluated by the foundation selection committee composed of the board of directors and the executive director. Selection is made based on submissions that demonstrate a drive to make medicine better and improve communities, and scholarship award winners each receive $5,000.

• Eric Sosa, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
• Daem Roxane Celestin, UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine
• Ahmad Elhaija, UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and Founder and CEO at International Collegiate Health Initiative
