Industry Veteran Steve Dix Joins Terrapin Networks to Elevate Local Tech Services

Traverse City, November 3, 2023 - Terrapin Networks, a leading provider of innovative technology solutions, is proud to announce the newest member of our team, Steve Dix. With a remarkable career spanning several decades, Steve brings an exceptional skill set and an unwavering commitment to our mission.

Steve Dix's journey in the tech industry began with Terrapin Networks in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He made significant contributions during that time and continued to excel in various roles at Northwestern Michigan College (NMC), where he spent over 23 years. Steve's diverse experience at NMC included desktop computer administration, Groupwise Email systems, Barracuda spam systems, switch and router management, firewall administration, wifi management, network infrastructure fiber connectivity management, support for multiple campuses in Traverse City, telephone copper line support for fire alarm systems, infrastructure installations and upgrades, networking support for security cameras and card access, and VOIP phone support.

Steve's educational background is equally impressive, with an associate's degree in Industrial Electronics from Ferris State College and a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Technology from Baker College. Additionally, he has successfully completed the NMC Cisco Academy, demonstrating his dedication to continued learning and professional development.

Beyond his accomplishments in the tech industry, Steve also served his country as a member of the 110th Security Forces Squadron in the Michigan Air National Guard unit from 1992 to 2003. His service included activation on September 11, 2001, for over a year of active duty work, highlighting his commitment to duty during critical times.

Steve's interests extend to radio communications, and he holds a technician amateur radio license, showcasing his passion for staying connected in various ways.

Steve shared his enthusiasm for his new role at Terrapin Networks, saying, "I have enjoyed my many years working at Northwestern Michigan College in academia with all the great people who work there. And now I am looking forward to working with our small business customers, understanding their unique tech needs, and learning about their businesses."
