Media Advisory: 2023 Columbia University Military Ball in NYC

NEW YORK - Nov. 10, 2023 - PRLog -- More than 500 veterans, leaders, scholars, and guests will convene today to celebrate the Columbia University and New York City veteran communities at the annual Columbia University Military Ball on Friday, November 10.

An American tradition dating back to the 19th century, this year's Military Ball will feature remarks by Columbia University President Minouche Shafik, and will honor Walter and Shirley Wang with the presentation of the Peter J. Awn Lifetime Service Award in recognition of their generous support for military veterans and service members.

The event is co-hosted by the Columbia Veterans alumni organization, the Military Veterans of Columbia University student group, the Columbia University Center for Veteran Transition and Integration, and the Columbia University School of General Studies.
