HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Nov. 26, 2023 - PRLog -- Colette Barris on, "The Urban Village Podcast," discusses her project, "Claretta Street," and the six year battle that has ensued bringing the project to the screen in the latest episode of the podcast.  Claretta Street is based on her 2017 historical fiction novel Claretta Street, details the lives of four young Black girls growing up in the powerful sixties in the small tight knit (real life) home town of  Barris Pacoima.  Pacoima, California holds significant American history as it is only one of the towns west of the Mississippi which does not have restrictive racial covenants on real estate deeds. Pacoima at the height of it's success was home to more than 10,000 African American home owners and played a pivotal role during the Black migration.

For more than six years Colette Barris has fought to bring this important story to the screen only to experience countless road blocks by  Hollywood insider brother Kenya Barris for reasons that remain a mystery, episode is available now.
