Follow on Google News | NJT Celebrates Medical Donations from Express Companies Inc. and Work Health SolutionsHumanitarian partners help those in need around the world while simultaneously reducing waste.
By: Not Just Tourists According to Carl Eaton, Director of NJT-OC, "these generous donations will elevate our global health initiatives to an unprecedented level. We are incredibly grateful that the medical industry recognizes our efforts and is helping us change lives while reducing medical waste and promoting sustainable practices." Express Companies Inc., a provider of medical supplies, training materials, and services, donated a significant number of paramedic suitcases to NJT-OC. These cases have many features such as multiple pockets and pouches, backpack straps, wheels, and high-visibility panels. NJT-OC has been a recipient of Express Companies' donations for almost two years. Work Health Solutions, a new donor and a provider of occupational health programs and care, generously filled NJT-OC's warehouse with 26 pallets of unexpired Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). "As a healthcare provider, we recognize the critical importance of access to PPE for the safety of patients and clinicians. While we are customarily partnering with Fortune 500 companies on their occupational needs, we welcome this amazing opportunity to collaborate with NJT and offer this substantial donation" commented Dr. Letitia Heshmat, the founder. About Not Just Tourists Not Just Tourists is a non-profit organization that aims to improve healthcare access in developing countries. NJT collects surplus medical supplies from hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, medical industry partners and individuals that would otherwise be thrown into landfills due to US regulations. Volunteers pack the supplies into donated suitcases for delivery by travelers visiting developing countries. NJT makes it simple and rewarding for humanitarian tourists to give back to the communities they visit. NJT also provides bulk medical supplies to support humanitarian missions and regional disasters. This has resulted in over 10,000 suitcases and over one million pounds of supplies and equipment being delivered to those in need. NJT's work not only benefits the recipients of the medical supplies, but also helps to reduce medical waste and promote sustainable practices in the healthcare industry. By providing a platform for travelers to make a positive impact, NJT is empowering individuals to make a difference in the places they visit and contribute to global health efforts.
