The school was founded by screenwriter and author Michelle Murray and her son Kendal Murray, who is a professional Actor and Media Designer. They have successfully trained and mentored newcomers to the Entertainment industry since 2010, in part, because of the relationships they have built with people at such entities such as The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Warner Brothers, CBS and many more. (They started as the KMP Entertainment Professional Development Academy, adopting a new name and expanded curriculum in 2023.) Graduates of the school have worked on film and tv projects such as The Harder They Fall, Bright, The Goldbergs, Parenthood, Sam & Cat, Ricky, Nicky, Dicky and Dawn, NCIS LA, The Cleaning Lady and others. Conservatory programs are one year in length, unless otherwise specified. All of the school's instructors are working industry professionals, who will bring you the latest standards of the Entertainment industry. The school offers virtual and in person full day, partial day, and evening courses for adults. For teens, they also offer virtual and in person homeschool compatible program, or an after school schedule for those in traditional high schools. Please note that in person training is only available in the El Paso, Texas and Los Angeles, California areas. Additionally, The Murray Microschool For Arts offers summer programs for youth through grade 8. It's not easy, though. The curriculum is rigorous and the demands are those to be expected in the professional world. For example, the final exam for screenwriting students is to pitch their screenplay to real world industry executives. If you want to be competitive, it's a process that takes discipline and a willingness to sacrifice some of your time to complete such a course of instruction, in exchange for the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in this multi-billion dollar industry. Tuition is reduced through January 1st, 2024. Application Fee waivers are available for those that need them. There are also a limited number of partial and full scholarships available.
