Youth Spirit Artworks' Winter Fundraiser Promises an Artful Affair

BERKELEY, Calif. - Dec. 12, 2023 - PRLog -- Berkeley, CA – Youth Spirit Artworks (YSA), the organization behind empowering local unhoused youth, is thrilled to announce its Winter Fundraiser – an event that will deliver a canvas of celebration, creativity, and community unity. The fundraiser will be December 16, 2023, from 3:30-6:30 pm at the Youth Spirit Artworks studio at 1740 Alcatraz in Berkeley.

A highlight of the evening will be the keynote address delivered by Carmen Bogan, the esteemed author of several celebrated children's books, including the award-winning "Where's Rodney?" Carmen is also the founder of Dream On Publishing, an organization dedicated to improving literacy among children, and The Bogan Group, where she has dedicated over 20 years to the nonprofit sector, leaving an indelible mark on the community.

"I am honored to be part of Youth Spirit Artworks' Winter Fundraiser, " Carmen said. "Empowering young minds through art is a cause close to my heart. I look forward to sharing the transformative power of creativity with the community and others passionate about helping support this important organization."

Attendees will hear the music of a Berkeley youth Jazz ensemble, harmonizing with the vibrant spirit of the occasion. An art mixer and raffle will add layers of excitement, allowing patrons to immerse themselves in the kaleidoscope of creativity the participating youth presents. Short speeches from several youth leaders will provide insight into the details of triumph and resilience.

"This event is a celebration of milestones in- our journey towards our vision, the outcomes of our participants into housing, healing, creativity and transformation. We want to reflect,  be inspired and rejuvenate as a community, " said Karini Pereira-Bowers, YSA's operations director, "It's for our supporters to experience Youth Spirit Artworks up close and experience our community of youth artists and their work and learn more."

The fundraiser will include a short film screening which captures the essence of YSA's impactful work.

This afternoon of artistic engagement is a masterpiece of community connection and appreciation. Please note that this is a 21+ event, where appetizers and drinks will be provided.
