By: Downtown Lebanon On the first Friday of each month, the community is encouraged to come out to downtown and visit the shops, restaurants, art market, and pop-up shops that will be held throughout the downtown business district. Planned activities include pottery throwing demonstrations, art available for viewing and sale, live music performances, and more. Michelle Boyer, owner of Perennial Trends in downtown Lebanon said she saw a lot of new faces on Friday and she is looking forward to seeing the event grow as time goes on. "This was the first of these events and it was sort of an experiment to see if this is something the community wants. Based on the feedback, the Lebanon community is really excited about these types of events and downtown is thrilled to be that hub for our community." Several local artists came out to put on demonstrations, open pop-up galleries, and offer their art for sale. The Lebanon Art Guild had extended hours and the Laclede County Historical Society offered presentations by members in historic clothing. Local artist Josh Cullen says, "Words cannot express how well First Friday went for the artists involved. It was so wonderful to see the community out supporting our local artists and engaging with each other." The next First Friday will be February 2nd.
