Triunfo Water & Sanitation District Elects New Board Chair

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Jan. 10, 2024 - PRLog -- At its December 18, 2023 meeting, the Triunfo Water & Sanitation District (TWSD) elected Janna Orkney as its new board chair. Orkney, who is currently serving her fourth term, will lead the five-member board through 2024. Fellow board member James Wall was selected as vice-chair.

"While we are fortunate that the recent rains have provided short-term relief from the drought cycle, we continue to work towards the completion of our Las Virgenes-Triunfo Pure Water facility in 2030," says Orkney. "The facility will supply up to 30 percent of Triunfo's potable water needs, and take pressure off of our 100 percent dependence on imported potable water from Northern California."

Orkney first joined the TWSD board in 2006 and has served multiple terms as chair for both TWSD and the Las Virgenes-Triunfo Joint Powers Authority. She takes over leadership from outgoing chair Jane Nye.

"It's been an honor to serve as chair this past year as we celebrated our 60th anniversary," said Nye. "Janna's extensive leadership experience will serve the district well."

The other two 2023 TWSD board members are Leon Shapiro and Raymond Tjulander. The board convenes on the fourth Monday of each month at the district's Westlake Village office and over Zoom. More information can be found at www.triunfowsd.com.
