Evenings of Dance in Westchester

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Jan. 13, 2024 - PRLog -- We are thrilled to announce that January 26 - 28 our professional company will perform for the first time in the beautiful main floor Gallery space of the historic ArtsWestchester building - the former People's National Bank & Trust building in downtown White Plains.

An annual tradition since 2015, Evenings of Dance bring the choreographic work of Carole Alexis danced by Ballet des Amériques into various communities and venues throughout Westchester County. This year, we invite you to enjoy the upcoming weekend of dance at ArtsWestchester!

Since 2015, the annual Evenings of Dance series has delighted audiences across Westchester from a studio theater in Port Chester to the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, the Tarrytown Music Hall and now to ArtsWestchester's Gallery in White Plains.

ABOUT CAROLE ALEXIS | CHOREOGRAPHER
Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres Carole Alexis was honored with the 2023 Artist Award by ArtsWestchester. A student of Maurice Béjart, Alexis' choreographic work is rooted in classical ballet training and tradition while drawing upon influences as disparate as children's games, island rituals, natural phenomena, and modern urban life.

ABOUT BALLET DES AMÉRIQUES
Ballet des Amériques has danced in nearly 200 productions throughout Westchester, the greater New York City area and overseas and is committed to developing inclusive dance audiences through choreography and performances of the highest quality. The company's extensive and eclectic repertoire bears Carole Alexis' distinctive signature and vision, reinvigorating "ballet" for new audiences and dance connoisseurs alike.

Ballet des Amériques is a grantee of ArtsWestchester with funding made possible by Westchester County government with the support of County Executive George Latimer.
