JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jan. 24, 2024 - PRLog -- The Jacksonville Children's Chorus proudly announces its 15th Annual "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" Concert, an extraordinary event dedicated to honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and celebrating Black History Month through the captivating art form of choral music. The concert is scheduled for February 24, 2024, at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church, located at 4001 Hendricks Avenue in Jacksonville. Doors open at 1:30 pm, and the performance begins at 2:00 pm.

The Jacksonville Children's Chorus is privileged to host as special guests, The Tuskegee University "Golden Voices" Concert Choir (GVCC) under the direction of Dr. Wayne A. Barr. The GVCC was founded in 1886 by Booker T. Washington and holds a rich history of leading vesper services and other campus events. The collaboration with such a historic and esteemed choir is an honor for The Jacksonville Children's Chorus.

This event is generously sponsored by Vystar Credit Union, The Jacksonville Transportation Authority, and Florida State College at Jacksonville. Emceeing the evening will be Cleve Warren, Executive Director at Florida State College at Jacksonville, and Melissa Fulmore-Hardwick, Chief Information Officer at CSI companies.

Darren Dailey, President and Artistic Director of the Jacksonville Children's Chorus, reflects on the annual "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" concert: "Our mission each year goes beyond staging a great show. We aim to positively impact our community and ignite inspiration in our young singers by carrying on the legacy and message of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King and so many other activists. It's not just a tribute; it's about cultivating hope and harmony, in a time where our country is still in desperate need of understanding and equity."

Tickets for the event are available for $20.00 for advanced general admission (online only), $35.00 for reserved seating, and $25.00 for general admission at the door of the concert. All proceeds from the concert will contribute to the Jacksonville Children's Chorus' ongoing programming and scholarship funds.
