Chicago Horror Film Festival Returns for 25th Year, Promising Terrifying Lineup

CHICAGO - March 6, 2024 - PRLog -- The Chicago Horror Film Festival (CHFF) proudly announces its 25th annual edition, scheduled to run from May 3rd to May 5th, 2024, Halfway to Halloween, at Facets Theater located at 1517 W Fullerton Ave, Chicago, IL. Celebrating a quarter-century of horror excellence, the festival promises a spine-chilling experience for horror enthusiasts and filmmakers alike.

For the second consecutive year, Chicago's very own award-winning filmmaker CJ Vecchio will lead as Festival Director, continuing to elevate the festival's standards and amplify its impact on the horror community. Last year CHFF saw a 300% increase in ticket sales due to CJ taking over.

Since its inception, CHFF has been a beacon for indie filmmakers, providing a platform for emerging talents and celebrating the diversity of voices within the horror genre. This year's lineup will feature a curated selection of bone-chilling films from around the world, ranging from pulse-pounding thrillers to atmospheric ghost stories.

"We not only show the best horror films made in Chicago, but around the world," added Vecchio.

The festival received an overwhelming response, with over 500 films submitted from all corners of the globe. From this impressive pool of submissions, CHFF has selected the most spine-chilling and captivating films to be showcased on three screens simultaneously, ensuring that audiences have a variety of terror to choose from.

In addition to the film screenings, CHFF will present an impressive lineup of 22 special award categories, including "Best Horror Trailer" and "Best Horror Poster." These awards celebrate excellence in trailer editing and poster design, respectively, highlighting the creativity and talent within the horror community.
