Follow on Google News | McKinney Black History Month Celebration Wraps Up with Inspiring Events and Community EngagementThroughout the month, the community came together to participate in a variety of engaging programs, including the Honoring Historic Black Churches event, Gather Gospel Brunch, College Megafest, McKinney Chamber of Commerce CEO Breakfast Series, and the vibrant 90s party featuring DJ Spinderella. These events highlighted the importance of celebrating diversity, unity, and cultural understanding. Reflecting on the success of the celebration, McKinney City Councilwoman Gere' Feltus shared, "Black History Month in McKinney has been a time of reflection, celebration, and unity. It is inspiring to see our community come together to honor the contributions of the Black community and promote cultural competence. I am proud of the commitment and dedication shown by all involved in making this celebration a memorable and impactful experience." In addition to the main events, McKinney Black History Month supported various community programs, including Legacy Keepers, Living Color Awards presented by Credit Union Of Texas, Gospel Concert, He Heard My Cry play, and Briidge the Gap STEM camp. The financial support and marketing provided by sponsors played a crucial role in ensuring the success of these programs and events.
