Urgent Call to Keep Private Money Out of Election Administration

MADISON, Wis. - March 24, 2024 - PRLog -- In a democracy, the integrity of our elections should never be up for sale! The Wisconsin People's Party is cautioning against the insidious influence of private money in election administration.

Michael Bernhard, the President of the Wisconsin People's Party, declared, "Our elections are not a playground for wealthy donors to manipulate outcomes. It's time to put an end to this farce and return to the principle that election administration should be fully funded by the public."

The intrusion of private money into our electoral process undermines the very foundation of democracy. Vote "yes" to ban the use of private funds for election administration, BUT and this is a BIG BUT, the state of Wisconsin has the responsibility to fill in the funding gap with money from General revenues.

The only way to ensure clean elections is to fully fund them with public money, and ban all private money. Private money comes with strings attached, and that spells corruption.

The money needs to come from the general revenue and it needs to cover all the costs of running an election, including the purchase of voting machines.
