Maintenance Tips for Oil-Free Air Compressors to Extend LifespanRegular maintenance of oil-free air compressors is crucial for longevity. From startup to operation, material checks, and timely component maintenance, here's what to focus on:
I. Methods to Extend Lifespan:
- Follow shutdown procedures in reverse. Gradually reduce speed and ensure complete system shutdown.
- Inspect and replace damaged parts like cutting pieces and cylinder covers to address friction issues.
- Check oil levels and connections, ensuring flexibility of moving parts and conducting idle runs to prevent jams.
- Regularly replace lubricating oil to remove metal fines and ensure smooth operation.
II. Major Component Maintenance:
- Ensure system pressure is released and isolated before repairing or replacing components.
- Timing of oil changes depends on environment. Replace oil after initial 500 hours and every 4000 hours thereafter.
- Replace oil filter after initial 300-500 hours and every 2000 hours subsequently.
- Prevent debris during air filter maintenance. Rotate machine manually before restart.
- Check belt tension every 2000 hours and adjust to prevent oil contamination.
- Replace oil filter with every oil change.
