Eva Garland Consulting Wins U.S. SBA's 2024 Growth Accelerator Fund Competition

RALEIGH, N.C. - April 24, 2024 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, NC – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that Eva Garland Consulting, LLC (EGC) is a Stage One winner in the 2024 Growth Accelerator Fund Competition (GAFC). EGC will receive a $50,000 cash prize in recognition of the firm's impactful contributions toward increasing equitable access to resources for entrepreneurs from underrepresented groups. With the prize, EGC will expand upon its earlier success to support women applying for National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants, which fund small businesses who are developing innovative technologies with commercial potential.

EGC's prior success in enhancing equity in the entrepreneurial ecosystem includes the firm's leadership of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Applicant Assistance Program (AAP), the first known program to statistically broaden representation of females and other underrepresented groups in both the applicant and awardee populations of the NIH's SBIR and STTR programs. The GAFC award will enable EGC to expand the firm's impact to the NSF SBIR/STTR program, in which female grant recipients have historically represented only 15% of the agency's awardees.

Female entrepreneurs who are selected into the program will receive EGC's bestselling book, "Winning SBIR/STTR Grants: A Ten-Week Plan for Preparing Your NSF Phase I Application"; mentoring from a successful female NSF SBIR/STTR awardee; and coaching from an EGC Scientific Grants Expert.  The online portal for female entrepreneurs to apply for the program will open in early May 2024 and will be available at SBIRLand.com, a website developed by EGC with a prior GAFC award.
