Arm in Arm Has Found a New Home

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - May 1, 2024 - PRLog -- Birmingham, AL — Arm in Arm (AiA), once a grassroots project of the US Climate Action Network (USCAN), is thrilled to announce its new relationship with The People's Justice Council (PJC). The PJC, a long-standing ally of AiA, shares our unwavering commitment to the development and execution of the Power for Southern People NOT Southern Company (P4SPNSoCo) campaign. We stand united in our fight for environmental and economic justice in the Southern states.

While our physical location may have changed, our relationships with our partners and unwavering determination to make a difference remain the same. Arm in Arm's mission is to ignite a transformational era that ends the climate crisis by centering on racial and economic justice. We're going to do that through sustained disruptive humanitarianism. Our focus now shifts to the dirty energy industry in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, where we are ready to hold Southern Company accountable for its actions.

Mississippi Power, Alabama Power, and Georgia Power,  (each a subsidiary of Southern Company), together with the legislators and enablers in their pockets, are actively denying the climate crisis and dismantling our democracy and reproductive rights. From voting rights to anti-trans and LGBTQ bills, including threats to Roe v Wade, the same legislators that are stripping away our civil rights across every frame are perpetuating inequitable energy outcomes that are hurting families and communities across the South.
