Women's Wellness Tea Party brings 'blooms, bites, and beautiful conversations'

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - May 10, 2024 - PRLog -- Portsmouth, Virginia — Care for Me Youth Initiatives, a nonprofit helping young families meet their basic needs and succeed, invites women to a unique social event focused on their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Our Women's Wellness Tea Party takes place on Saturday, May 18 from 12-3 p.m. at 661 Lincoln St. in Portsmouth.

Attendees will savor treats from Chef Francis III along with refreshing tea and craft lemonade in a space filled with blooms. All ladies will receive an Adult Self-Care/Calming Box made by Elev&te Health & Wellness. Onsite health and wellness exams from event sponsor Aetna Healthcare and an informative panel discussion on "Blending the Blended Family" will round out the event.

As a bonus, Care for Me Youth Initiatives is setting up a boutique for anyone interested in a special tea party outfit. Free dress attire and accessories will be available at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15 at 661 Lincoln St.

"As a community leader and native to the area, I am especially thrilled to be a part of the Wellness Tea Party," Care for Me Youth Initiatives director Shekita Jackson said. "Ladies will have a moment in time to share, be encouraged, discuss hard subjects, enjoy delicious bites, feel beautiful, be transparent, heal, and develop. Safe spaces are very important to all aspects of our health."

Tickets for the tea party are $35. Register and purchase tickets at careformeyouth.org. The event is free for Care for Me Youth Initiative program participants and Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority residents who received invitations.

Please note that the Women's Wellness Tea Party is an 18+ event. Onsite childcare is available for a fee.
