ABINGDON, Va. - May 15, 2024 - PRLog -- At the 2024 Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Institute's Midyear Governance Conference held in Nashville, Fred McClellan of Virginessee Real Estate Consultants earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation.

The CCIM designation is the pinnacle of professional designation in commercial real estate. CCIM designees are proven leaders in commercial real estate dedicated to honoring expertise, ethical responsibility, and quality as they deliver client service.

Fred graduated from the University of Virginia's College at Wise and received the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2006. He began his professional career as a retail banker and commercial lender before making the transition to entrepreneurship. Fred owned and managed businesses in the food and beverage sector for three decades, developing knowledge in the needs of business owners and operators. In 2008, Fred pivoted into real estate.

Licensed in both Tennessee and Virginia, Fred has volunteered in the industry at the state level in both states. He has been an active member of the Bristol Tennessee Virginia Association of Realtors, serving on various committees and acting as the association's president in 2016. Currently, he is a member of the Virginia Realtors Public Policy Committee, and he serves as a member of the 2024 Virginia Realtors Board of Directors. His past service includes membership on the Virginia Realtors Economic Advisory Board. In Tennessee, Fred served as a member of the Tennessee Realtors Board of Directors and the Tennessee Commercial Forms Committee.

"It was a pleasure to submit Fred McClellan as a candidate for the CCIM designation," said Michael Green, CCIM MAI SIOR, President of Green Commercial Realty. "Fred and I became colleagues as he entered the real estate field, and from my perch in Tennessee, we are fortunate to have Fred working both sides of the state line."

Aside from his real estate career, Fred is an advocate for Bristol's musical heritage. He co-founded the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance in 1994 and served as its first president. This leadership role included the initiative to designate Bristol as the official "Birthplace of Country Music" through legislation in the Virginia General Assembly in 1995, the United States Congress in 1998, and ultimate recognition as an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.

"It brings great satisfaction to serve the needs of my clients and witness their success," said Fred McClellan. "It is the ultimate reward and the ultimate inspiration to serve fine people in fine communities."
