Onco-Ballet Foundation Awarded $11,700 Donation from OC 100 Women Who Care

IRVINE, Calif. - May 24, 2024 - PRLog -- Onco-Ballet Foundation was recently awarded $11,716.70 from 100 Women Who Care, Orange County Chapter. The organization awarded the donation to Onco-Ballet Foundation during its most recent event at ACI Jet in Santa Ana, Calif. This is the third fundraiser of OC 100 Women Who Care after re-launching in October 2023.

Part of a national consortium of chapters, OC 100 Women Who Care gathers women from across Orange County four times a year to learn about local nonprofits, then pools their member's donations of $100 per person to give to one worthy organization selected from three invited to present at the event.

"We are so grateful for the opportunity to share information about the Onco-Ballet Foundation and the support we received from the OC 100 Women Who Care fundraiser," said Onco-Ballet Foundation Founder and Executive Director Anna Wassman-Cox. "Honored doesn't begin to describe how we feel being able to share our story alongside three amazing nonprofits and being selected to receive the generous donations of more than 100 women across Orange County.

"The April event featured five-minute presentations from Onco-Ballet Foundation, Discovery Cube OC and Cure Duchenne. During Wassman-Cox's presentation, she shared her personal story about fighting breast cancer twice before the age of 30 and how ballet helped her mentally and physically throughout her treatment and recovery.

Designed by Wassman-Cox to help anyone facing cancer get back in touch with their body through nourishing ballet movement, Onco-Ballet™ helps strengthen body, mind and spirit. "It doesn't feel like exercise, and the variety of movement, stretches and creative expression can help alleviate mental and physical side effects from cancer treatment.

"This donation means so much to us at Onco-Ballet Foundation, as it will further our growing organization's mission of providing Onco-Ballet™ classes free of charge to anyone facing cancer. At a minimum, the donation will enable us to provide Onco-Ballet™ to 300 participants in the cancer community," explained Wassman-Cox.
