Damabiah Foundation Rallies Support for Displaced Haitians

PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti - May 27, 2024 - PRLog -- Donate to the Damabiah Foundation The Damabiah Foundation teams respond to the escalating needs of displaced people across Haiti due to increasing gang violence. They aim to support 5,200 displaced families by mobilizing donations from the private sector and international donors. The already dire humanitarian situation has worsened with rising violence in Port-au-Prince, making it difficult for nearly five million Haitians to access food aid and psychosocial support as per recent UN figures.

The leadership of the Damabiah Foundation is appealing for donations to provide critical support services. These include psychosocial support, food baskets, clean water, mattresses, beds, hygiene and sanitation kits, along with childcare essentials. The foundation emphasizes the urgent need for contributions to prevent further suffering and meet the basic needs of these vulnerable families.

The Damabiah Foundation has expressed deep gratitude to Thed David Désir, Director of Control and Verification of Companies at the Office National d'Assurance Viellesse (ONA), for his generous donations of food for orphans, disadvantaged children, and medicine for two clinics. Waner Jerome, Director of Operation at the Damabiah Foundation, acknowledged Désir's long-term support as vital to their mission.

During a visit to the Damabiah Foundation headquarters, Thed Désir reaffirmed his belief in a brighter future for Haiti, urging all stakeholders to contribute to the cause. He often calls upon employees, partners, and collaborators to work towards the vitality of the ONA and assist the most vulnerable populations. The foundation also extends its thanks to volunteers and organizations who have provided medical, paramedical, and logistical services to support their efforts.

Under the leadership of Guelmo Alexis, President and Executive Director, the Damabiah Foundation has acknowledged the support from international volunteers and organizations. A total of over 52 supporters in the USA have formed solidarity chains to collect essential items like food, medicines, clothing, construction materials, and hygiene kits for those in need in Haiti.
