Florida FAME Student Signing Day Event Set for July 9, 2024

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - July 1, 2024 - PRLog -- The Florida FAME Sunshine Chapter is excited to announce its upcoming Signing Day event on July 9, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the Daytona State College Advanced Technology College, located at 1770 Technology Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL. This special event celebrates the placement of the 4th cohort of FAME students into local manufacturing businesses.

The Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) is an employer-led program designed to produce top-tier, entry-level talent for the manufacturing sector. The program is a collaborative effort between employers and educational institutions, ensuring students receive both theoretical knowledge and practical on-the-job training.

Members of the media are invited to attend to witness these enthusiastic students and learn more about the partnerships between local manufacturers and educational institutions. Students have been sponsored by leading companies including Sparton, B. Braun, Dougherty Manufacturing, Germfree, ABB, By Light, Thompson Pump, Alleima, Teledyne Marine, and Ameritech Die & Mold South.

The FAME program requires participating employers to provide comprehensive on-the-job training aligned with college coursework, assign mentors, and ensure a safe working environment. In return, employers gain access to highly skilled technicians ready to contribute to their operations.
