By: The Sunflower Nation National Sunflower Nation Day was inspired by founder, Edith Banks, and her courageous battle with cancer. June 5th, 2015, was the day Edith was officially in remission and completed her cancer treatment. Commemorating this day, Edith vowed to share her story and help others achieve their goals, leading to the creation of The Sunflower Nation. "We are overwhelmed by the generous support from our community," said Edith Banks, Founder of The Sunflower Nation. "This fundraiser helps us provide scholarships to deserving students. It's incredible to see how far we've come and the impact we can make together." The event featured inspiring speeches, great food, drinks and fellowship. Bringing together donors, supporters, and community members. The funds raised will be directly used to provide scholarships. "We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of generosity and belief in our mission," Edith added. "Together, we are sowing seeds of success and making a lasting impact in our community." The Sunflower Nation, is currently in the process of developing its official foundation, The Sunflower Nation Bright Futures Foundation, a nonprofit organization that will provide college scholarships, leadership development, and support to individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
