The federally funded Summer BreakSpot program is designed to bridge the summer hunger gap, enabling organizations to serve nutritious meals to children. In Palm Beach County, the program is supported by the School District of Palm Beach County, United Way of Palm Beach County, and other local partners. In 2023, 1,057,262 meals were distributed to children across the county. "At United Way of Palm Beach County, we believe that no child should go hungry, especially during the summer months when school meals are not available. The Summer BreakSpot program ensures that children receive the nutrition they need to thrive," said Dr. Laurie George, president and CEO of United Way of Palm Beach County. "We are committed to supporting our community and ensuring every resident has access to healthy meals."
