'Wild Faith' Sequel 'Wild Faith Christmas' Announces Director

The award-winning Collective Development Inc. 1800's film seen by tens of millions is preparing for a second thrilling adventure!

LANSING, Mich. - July 11, 2024 - PRLog -- The film Wild Faith was an amazing family western set shortly after the Civil War in Michigan. It follows soldier Emmett Murphy who made a promise to a dying Negro soldier who saved his life. That promise was to take into his care the wife and child of the fallen soldier. This set the stage for a powerful drama that tackled some serious issues. The story was further enriched by a circus train that wrecked (true story) and a tiger that was released into the wilds. The film won many awards nationally including a Justice Award for the way it handled the interracial aspects of the story. A TV series has been in development for several years but the team is reigniting the franchise with a Christmas adventure.

The story picks up five years after the first film, where Emmett and his preacher, father-in-law were at odds over the "situation" of the mixed family. We are treated to a new relationship between the two, one that has matured and grown. Together they embark upon a road trip to take a wagon full of donated goods North to a small church hosting orphans from the historical 'Orphan Train'. This was a practice of taking children from the streets and orphanages in the big East-coast cities and moving them across the country to participate in adoption events.

The script is again penned by DJ Perry who wrote the original script. The story still has all the same heartfelt themes of family and interracial relationships from the first film buts adds themes of child labor, faith and charity into the mix. Shane Hagedorn who played the film's lead Emmett, will be taking the director's chair. Previously he directed and co-starred in both 'Ashes of Eden' and 'Best Years Gone' for Collective Development. The film is looking to enter production at the end of year in Alpena, Michigan where the company previously filmed the 1920's prohibition story 'Harsens Island Revenge' adapted from the book by author Karl Manke.
