Industry PC with IP 66 equipped for heavy use

July 22, 2024 - PRLog -- The use of computers within an industrial environment, specifically outdoors, under high temperatures or under the influence of vibration, wetness, dust and similar aggressive environmental factors can pose a great challenge. The German distributor Acceed has now added the model Nuvo-9650AWP to its programme, a cost-efficient IP66 controller precisely tailored to these requirements. Moreover, various options and extension opportunities allow targeted configuration and adaptation to specific use scenarios.

The new industry computer Nuvo-9650AWP from the renowned manufacturer Neousys, now available from Acceed, is a cost-efficient, waterproof IP66 controller, optionally available with a generation 12 or 13 Intel processor and was developed specifically for harsh and demanding environments. The Nuvo-9650AWP with its slim, waterproof housing and the standardised cable harness attuned to it convinces with attractive total costs of operation (TCO) as well as offering considerable improvements vis-à-vis its predecessors. It is resistant against high operating temperatures, intense collisions and vibrations, dust, wetness and saline content in the environment.

The Nuvo-9650AWP provides wide-ranging connectivity functions for general application requirements. It has several 2.5 GbE ports and interfaces for USB and isolated RS-232 and RS-422/485 data connections. All ports are designed as waterproof M12 sockets for corresponding plugs. The waterproof type C port allows fast USB-3 data transfer with 5 Gbit/s. A long-range DC power port from four to 48 V with trigger current switching is available for the power supply. The robust industry PC is certified according to MIL-STD-810H and therefore appropriate for vibration-protected installation in vehicles, even within military surroundings. Last but not least, the Nuvo-9650AWP was accoladed with the MAE Innovators Award in autumn 2023.

With the implementation of protective category IP66, limitations due to environmental influence, where subjecting it to dust or fluids could pose a problem, are reduced significantly. The design, which is geared to protection and operational security in particular, supports projects for which the budget is also decisive and defines a new category of embedded computers which depicts an optimum compromise between robustness, performance and costs. Various equipment versions, for example with PoE as well as dedicated accessories (cables, plugs, power supplies, assembly kits) support its fast readiness for use.
