Pacifier could save millions of lives

JAVEA, Spain - July 23, 2024 - PRLog -- After years of experiments and research, a British inventor Graham Smith who is a Spanish resident. Has invented a pacifier also known as a baby's dummy. Which could save the lives of babies and toddlers.

His invention has a chamber on the top section of the pacifier, which can have a cotton strip inserted. The cotton strip can have either prior or post insertion decongestant droplets placed on it. As this is under the nostrils, the nostrils become cleared when blocked by mucus.

Another benefit to the design of this patented product allows for the knob back section of the pacifier to be removed. This can only happen by an adult. This allows for the teats to be changed, if required and also for medication in controlled amounts to be placed inside the teat.

Once the knob is replaced back onto the pacifier, it twists and clicks, locking into place. The baby or toddler can now have its nose unblocked and or suck on medication form the teat. Which ever is required.

Smith said. "I invented this as I had seen that SIDS. (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Was linked to deaths where the deceased had often had a blocked nose or nose breathing difficulty prior to passing away.

As a result I made the chamber to unblock the nose. But also invented a way that the teats could be easily removed by an adult and replaced. Plus this allows for medication to be applied within the teat itself easily by an adult."

Now Smith is looking to either sell the IP to a pacifier or medical company. Or to raise the funding to produce the pacifiers himself. As each day goes by babies and toddlers are at risk from possible death or discomfort by not having access to this product.

One other benefit is that the pacifier can also be used as a weaning device for toddlers to change from liquid to solid food.
