Follow on Google News | Lauren has High Hopes of Raising Money for Local HospiceAfter hearing how they had helped her colleague, Forbes Burton's Lauren Jones is skydiving to raise money for St Andrew's Hospice.

Lauren Jones, case administrator at Forbes Burton is hoping to raise as much as possible for St Andrew's Hospice. She'll be hopping in a plane and ascending 15,000ft above ground before leaping out into the wide blue yonder. During this jump, the first minute of her descent will see her hurtle back to Earth at speeds of up to 120mph, covering almost two miles in just 60 seconds. Asked whether she's nervous about jumping out of a plane three miles up in the air, Lauren said "I'm not actually sure how good I am with heights. I guess I'll find out when I'm up there!" Lauren's colleague had seen his father spend his last moments in the hospice and was incredibly thankful for the care and attention he was given there. Sadly, the elderly can often be treated like a hinderance, and once dementia takes hold, even some care homes don't seem to treat them like people anymore. This made her colleague even more grateful of St Andrew's Hospice's efforts to provide a comfortable and dignified stay for his father's final days. Many of us will eventually visit the hospice with loved ones, or maybe even ourselves. They charge nothing for their services and admit everybody from terminally ill children to the elderly. Please give as much as you can to support this amazing organisation. Every pound received makes a huge difference to those facing their last moments. If you'd like to donate, Lauren's JustGiving page can be found here –https://www.justgiving.com/ End
