He struck 27 times in all competitions as City also won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, while reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the final of the FA Cup.

Foden has won 18 trophies with City, his boyhood club. He has won the PFA Young Player of the Year twice before, in 2020-21 and 2021-22. His PFA Players' Player award completes a clean sweep of the major individual honours, having also won the Football Writers' Association award and the Premier League Player of the Season award. Foden was given an extended break after helping England reach the Euro 2024 final but he was back in action on Sunday as City began their title defence with a 2-0 win over Chelsea. City play their first home game of the season against Ipswich on Saturday, when Foden will be able to show off his PFA award at the Etihad Stadium.
