SGS Summarizes Revision of Chemicals Ordinance on Substances and Mixtures in Switzerland

GENEVA - Sept. 2, 2024 - PRLog -- SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, has provided details of Switzerland's revision of its national Chemical Ordinance (ChemO, RS/SR 813.11). ChemO regulates dangerous substances and preparations (mixtures).

Requirements stipulated under ChemO include the following:
- Classification, labeling and packaging (CLP) of substances and mixtures
- Safety data sheets (SDS)
- Use of substances of very high concern (SVHC)

Official Collection 2024 404 (RO 2024 404) was issued on August 6, 2024, revising ChemO Annex 2 (Technical requirements for CLP) and Annex 3 (Candidate List of SVHC). It becomes effective from September 1, 2024, and provides transitional provisions for the CLP of substances and mixtures.
