It's the 26th National Curry Week!

LONDON - Oct. 9, 2024 - PRLog -- As the aroma of spices fills the air, curry enthusiasts across the UK are gearing up for one of the most anticipated culinary events of the year - National Curry Week. From October 7 to 13, 2024, this week-long celebration will honour one of the nation's favourite cuisines and support the thriving Indian restaurant industry. National Curry Week, established in 1998, is an annual event dedicated to celebrating the rich and diverse world of curry. This week is not just about indulging in delicious dishes but also about recognizing the cultural significance and the hard work of the chefs and restaurants that bring these flavours to life. This celebration is a tribute to the chefs, restaurants, and curry lovers who have made curry an integral part of British cuisine. It's a time to appreciate the culinary artistry and the cultural heritage that each dish represents.

Whether you're a curry connoisseur, a casual fan, or a curry house, there are plenty of ways to get involved in National Curry Week. You can find the closest restaurant to you and enjoy a delicious curry by visiting the "Visit Your Local for a Curry" page on National Curry Week's official website. If you are a restaurant owner and would like to participate, you can download all the promotional materials you need to make the most out of this week. One of the highlights of this year was the cook-off competition, where National Curry Week assembled some of the best chefs in the UK for an exciting and charitable culinary challenge. The event featured 5 talented chefs, who were tasked with an ambitious goal: to cook 400 curries in just 100 minutes! All 400 curries cooked during the competition were donated to St. Luke's Community Centre in Islington, providing much-needed meals to people in need. Renowned chefs such as Chef Ashwani Kumar and Chef Vikas Soni from Mango Lounge, in Windsor: Chef Ashok Kumar, head chef at Michelin-star restaurant Kanishka by Atul Kochhar, together with Chef Praveen and lastly Chef Binod Baral, brought their expertise and passion to this cook-off. This event not only showcased the incredible talent within the Curry community but also highlighted the spirit of generosity and community support.
