Holman United Methodist Church to Host Post-Election Debrief

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 7, 2024 - PRLog -- On October 20, the Holman United Methodist Church joined faith-based, social justice organizations LA Voice and Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE) to host a Ballot Education Forum at the historic West Adams church. The Tre Cyrus-Franklin trio offered straight ahead jazz. There were light refreshments and copious information. Voters heard explanations of ballot measures and propositions and prepared themselves to weigh the pros and cons of each. All the "sides" were represented.

This Sunday, November 10, 2:00-4:00 pm, Holman will bookend the Ballot Education Forum with Post-Election Reflection & Analysis. As the previous forum, Reflection & Analysis is co-sponsored by LA Voice and CLUE. It's intended to give voters and non-voters alike the space to process the results of Tuesday's historic presidential election, including shifts in the House and Senate, and changes in local political infrastructure.

Holman lead pastor, Rev. Victor Cyrus-Franklin explains that Reflection will also give lay the groundwork for action: "The community is gathering to reflect on Tuesday's election results… and join in discernment of action and next steps for the road ahead. These are only first steps in response."

Post-Election Reflection and Analysis is free of charge and open to all. Registration is encouraged.
