The new emulation capabilities of the Multi-ONU Emulator include, among others, new rogue ONU emulation options, allowing the user to control the timing of an emulated rogue ONU, as well as to emulate an ONU with constant light transmission. The new capabilities also include the option to define unsupported OMCI MEs and attributes for the each of the emulated ONUs. The OLT Emulator enhancements include full automation in the analysis of the test results, including in the upper layer protocols, as well as optimizations that significantly reduce the time duration of the test cycles. "More and more of the players in the PON market are becoming aware of the benefits of the testing each of the PON elements – the OLT and the ONU – on a stand-alone basis", said Dr. Hanan Herzberg, TraceSpan founder and CEO. "We are receiving excellent feedbacks from our customers – vendors and service providers alike – about our PON emulation capabilities. We have extensively studied their use cases for these capabilities, and our recent enhancements allow them to better address these use cases, increase their testing coverage and shorten the testing times." The enhancements described above have already been released to TraceSpan's customers who have valid maintenance contracts for the PON emulation products. Other customers, who own the PON analyzers but are missing the emulation options, can purchase them as cost-effective add-on modules.
