WILDWOOD, Mo. - Dec. 19, 2024 - PRLog -- Rep. Justin M. Sparks, Missouri State Representative (R-110) announced in a series of live video chats, his campaign to be voted Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives for the new General Assembly on January 8, 2025.

"People's response to my announcement to run for Speaker has been humbling. The frustration of Missouri voters and especially conservatives is palpable with twelve and counting Republican Central County Committees endorsing my campaign unsolicited," said Speaker candidate Justin Sparks. "Jackson County, home to Dr. Patterson's district endorsed me and denounced Patterson and his 'betrayal' of the Republican Party platform as did the Missouri Firearms Coalition in their video documenting six 'betrayals'."

For multiple cycles, Missouri voters have delivered super majorities for Republican legislative leadership, including electing Republicans to every statewide office in 2024 and re-electing President Trump by 18%. But Amendment 3, a CA/NY style unrestricted abortion and "reproductive health" ballot question passed with only 51% of the vote from only four counties because an alternative Amendment was killed legislatively, as was Initiative and Petition Reform- once again.

Dr. Jon Patterson played a key role in A3 passing as Republican Majority Leader. He was still selected in a private, November Republican caucus for a promotion to be Speaker. However, the actual vote must include newly elected state representatives who can nominate and vote for any member to be Speaker on January 8, 2025, in Jefferson City. Rep. Justin Sparks is vowing to address A3 and vote on a package of House rules changes on day one.
