This dynamic quartet delivers a barn-dance-meets-rock-concert experience that blends Celtic, Eastern European, and Appalachian traditions with unmatched energy and technical brilliance.

Tickets start at $25 and may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the box office at 301-600-2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick Street. Discounts are available for students, children, military, and seniors.

Named after Ukrainian nomads, Scythian (sith-ee-yin) has earned a reputation for their thunderous performances and engaging storytelling. Their roots are steeped in diverse influences, with classically trained brothers Alexander (Vocals, Fiddle, Mandolin, Harmonica) and Danylo Fedoryka (Vocals, Guitar, Accordion) drawing inspiration from Ukrainian folk music and bluegrass. Ethan Dean (Vocals, Upright and Electric Bass, Percussion, Guitar) contributes a love of 60s and 70s folk-rock, while Johnny Rees (Vocals, Drums, Percussion), raised in Lafayette, LA, infuses a Cajun backbeat that adds yet another dynamic layer to the band's sound.

With a musical chemistry that is both technically precise and wildly entertaining, Scythian has captivated audiences around the globe. The Washington Post highlights their "contagious enthusiasm" and performances that leave audiences "dancing, jumping around, or hoisting glasses." During the COVID lockdowns, Scythian connected with fans through over 1,000 hours of live streams and released two new albums: Roots & Stones and Quaranstream: The Album, alongside four new music videos.
