Unspoken Truth, a film about stuttering, selected for the SmallRig Awards 2025

NEW YORK - Jan. 18, 2025 - PRLog -- In Unspoken Truth (Dutch title: De Waarheid), produced by Censtudios, we follow Timothy, a dedicated graphic designer who is unexpectedly accused of inappropriate behavior. As the only employee in his company who stutters, he finds it difficult to tell his side of the story.

In october 2024 the film held its private release event in a packed theater. It was a memorable evening that went smoothly, with the film receiving an overwhelmingly positive response.

The audience was moved by the film's portrayal of how profoundly stuttering can impact a person's life. They found it both inspiring and captivating, resonating with its core message: stuttering poses a significant challenge to free expression, and its impact is too often underestimated.

After its release, the film was sent to several film festivals in Europe and The United States, where it was picked up by the SmallRig Awards. The SmallRig Awards is a competition hosted by SmallRig, a well-known manufacturer of camera accessories and cinematography equipment, to recognize and support visual storytellers who focus on addressing social issues on a global scale. This includes, but is not limited to, marginalized communities lacking representation, global warming, animal conservation, economic and social inequality, health crises, cultural and social divides, and gender inequality.

The film will be judged both by an audience and experienced jurors, such as Ruby Yang, a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and winner of the Best Documentary Short Subject at the 79th Academy Awards.
