By: Books in Homes USA In December, over 700 students in the local Philadelphia area, from the Caln Elementary School in the Thorndale School District and Delaplaine McDaniel School in the Philadelphia School District, received the opportunity to select two free books, many with a focus on STEM-related titles, to build their home libraries with inspiring books that foster literacy and a love of learning. Angela Curry, vice president at Bentley Systems commented, "Bentley is proud to support Books in Homes USA's December book fair initiative and gift each student participant a STEM-related book to ignite their passion for reading and knowledge. This program not only gives back to the communities where we live and work but also seeks to inspire the next generation of engineers, scientists, and innovators." Principal Jeannette Lennon of Caln Elementary School emphasized the importance of this event for her students. "Giving our students the opportunity to build their home libraries with books they are excited to read is a gift beyond measure. This book fair brought so much joy to our school, and we're deeply grateful to Bentley Systems for making it possible." At Delaplaine McDaniel School, Principal Austin Wallace echoed these sentiments. "What an amazing gift to have this opportunity to partner with Books in Homes and Bentley Systems to encourage literacy within our school! We are so grateful for the kindness that Bentley Systems has shown our school by not only providing students with books for their home libraries, but for also exposing students to the importance of STEM. The book giveaway excited our students about reading and learning and that brings hope to our entire community. Thank You Bentley Systems! You are truly making a difference." Books in Homes USA Executive Director Kate Bowersox shared her enthusiasm for the partnership. "We know that books can open doors, inspire dreams, and create lifelong readers. Thanks to Bentley Systems, hundreds of students now have access to books that excite and empower them. We hope this partnership inspires other companies and individuals to sponsor book fairs and bring the magic of reading to even more children."
