These measures, which include punitive actions such as account termination, service denial, and potential legal threats under the guise of combating harassment, pose a serious risk to fair and constructive discourse within the gaming community. While safeguarding employees from legitimate harassment is essential, these policies blur the line between protecting staff and suppressing valid consumer criticism. Vague and overly broad definitions of "harassment" Protecting Free Expression in the Gaming ecosystem, which thrives on community interaction, feedback, and the free exchange of ideas is indispensable. Suppressing criticism undermines trust between publishers and players, damaging the industry's integrity and long-term success. Gamers deserve the right to voice concerns about game quality, business practices, and artistic considerations without fear of retaliation. The Brotherhood calls on publishers to adopt transparent, balanced policies that distinguish between harmful behavior and legitimate critique. We urge industry leaders to engage with the community, implement fair feedback channels, and commit to fostering a safe yet open gaming environment. We also encourage gamers, developers, and stakeholders to join us in advocating for responsible practices that uphold both player rights and employee well-being. Together, we can build a more inclusive and accountable gaming industry! Ubisoft, the latest publisher the authorize such strategies, is the subject of this renewed call on our part. Additionally we note the publishers addressed in a prior release: Square Enix, and Epic Games would appear to have had no major incidents reported, or actions taken in response, since! We bid that good conduct will continue to be observed by all. The Brotherhood continues to monitor the situation.
