TRENTON, N.J. - Feb. 12, 2025 - PRLog -- Citizens for New Jersey Election Integrity (C4NJEI) distributed a four-question survey about electoral system reforms to eleven candidates competing in the race for governor. Two responded in the affirmative to all four questions, and the rest chose not to respond.

The questions were:

1.Do you support voter ID, issued to verified US citizens, free to all legally eligible voters?

2. Do you support additional state legislation to ensure that only US citizens vote, which would include verification of identification, citizenship status and residency of all registered and registering voters?

3. Do you support ending the permanent vote-by-mail list, and instead require voters to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot for each election cycle?

4. Do you support the elimination of voter registration by all social service agencies, and limit voter registrations to the Motor Vehicle Commission and the county elections offices only?

Candidates Ed Durr and Bill Spadea answered "yes" to all four questions. Candidates Jon Bramnick, Jack Ciattarelli, Ras Baraka, Steven Fulop, Josh Gottheimer, Mario Kranjac, Mikie Sherrill, Sean Spiller, and Steve Sweeney chose not to respond, which is taken as "no" to all four.

"These are the four simplest and most popular reforms we could propose to eliminate opportunities for illegal voting in New Jersey. We found and referred to law enforcement over 400 names of potentially invalid voters whose ballots were counted in the last general election", stated Mark Demo, Founder and Co-Director of Citizens for NJ Election Integrity. "For example, take the permanent vote-by-mail list. It results in thousands of ballots being mailed to people who may have died or moved out of state, which can be intercepted and voted. And it causes frustration and added time in voting queues for people who are on the vote by mail list but do not wish to be."
