BOSTON - Feb. 13, 2025 - PRLog -- The Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF), the largest global funder of neuroendocrine cancer research, announces the start of their 2025 request for applications process. Scientists have until 5 p.m. EST on March 17, 2025, to submit their letter of intent.

NETRF offers four types of neuroendocrine cancer research awards (Accelerator, Investigator, Pilot, and Mentored Research Awards) with grants ranging from $90,000 to $800,000 over one to four years. They support scientists who conduct highly innovative research, whose work will help provide insight into the causes of neuroendocrine cancer and lead to improved treatments for patients.

"NETRF is the lifeline for dedicated scientists working tirelessly to unravel the complexities of this uncommon and challenging disease," said Elyse Gellerman, NETRF's chief executive officer. "NETRF is making the impossible, possible by accelerating leading-edge research in early detection and personalized treatments."

NETRF's grant process is rigorous and competitive. Requests for funding must be submitted for a specific research award. Applicants can submit their applications through ProposalCentral. (https://proposalcentral.com/default.asp) The timeline and process can be found on netrf.org/for-researchers/about/funding-for-researchers/apply-for-research-grants/.

NETRF recently announced its latest neuroendocrine cancer research grant recipients. The ten investigators receiving new awards are studying the most promising scientific approaches to understanding and treating neuroendocrine cancer. Funding for these ten grants totals $2 million, bringing NETRF's all-time investment in research to $39.8 million. Since its founding in 2005, NETRF has funded 156 research projects at 76 institutions in 17 countries worldwide.

"Our role of building and nurturing the neuroendocrine cancer research community is vital. NETRF is often the sole source of funding for early-career scientists with groundbreaking ideas," said Todd Gilman, president of NETRF's board of directors. "We're proud that the innovative researchers we've funded are making important discoveries that will have positive impacts on the patient community."
