BOSTON - Oct. 23, 2024 - PRLog -- World NET (Neuroendocrine) Cancer Day is November 10th, an ideal time to participate in the viral Good Scan Cans fundraising movement which drives awareness and discovers cures for neuroendocrine cancers (affecting over 175,000 people in the U.S). Jake Dawson, a neuroendocrine cancer thriver, created the online movement to celebrate the small victories – supporting patients and their families – affected by this devasting disease. To learn more, celebrate Jake's scan, your good scan, a friend or family member's good scan, or toast to a future free of neuroendocrine cancer. (Note: a good scan references a radiology report that shows stable or decreasing disease.) The Good Scan Cans fundraising site is active now and will remain active through the month of November.

Jake Dawson will also host a #GoodScanCans4NETRF local fundraiser in Omaha, Nebraska, on World NET Cancer Day, November 10, 2024. The local fundraiser will be held at MULA (3932 Farnam St, Omaha) from 4-7 p.m. A $20 entry includes food and donation. The local event and national social media movement will raise awareness and monies for the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF), supporting vital research for neuroendocrine cancer.

Good Scan Cans benefits NETRF, the largest global funder of neuroendocrine cancer research. NETRF fills a critical funding gap, driving research and innovation across 74 institutions in 16 countries. The foundation plays a vital role in advancing scientific understanding, improving patient outcomes, and ultimately working toward cures.

"We are enormously grateful to Jake, Taylor and the neuroendocrine cancer community for finding creative and meaningful ways to raise funds for NETRF and to bring hope to every person affected by neuroendocrine cancer," said Elyse Gellerman, Chief Executive Officer for NETRF.
