LOS ANGELES - Feb. 15, 2025 - PRLog -- Lilith (/ˈlɪlɪθ/; Hebrew: לִילִית, romanized: Līlīṯ), also spelled Lilit, Lilitu, or Lilis, is a feminine figure in Mesopotamian and Jewish mythology, theorized to be the first wife of Adam and a primordial she-demon. Lilith is cited as having been "banished" from the Garden of Eden for not complying with and obeying Adam.

According to Jewish lore, Lilith was the first wife of Adam. Although not mentioned directly in the Bible, Lilith has been used to explain the two contradictory versions of Creation within the book of Genesis. Like Adam, Lilith was created from the dust and the earth, making them equal to one another.

In Jewish folklore, Lilith is said to be the name of Lucifer's wife. Lilith is also believed to have been Adam's first wife, before Eve.

Story of Lilith
Lilith and Adam were created at the same time, suggesting their equality.
Lilith refused to accept an inferior role and fled the Garden of Eden.
God punished Lilith by causing 100 of her demon children to perish daily.
Lilith is identified as an evil spirit and a night demon that harmed male children.
Lilith in popular culture

Lilith is mentioned in High School DxD as Adam's first wife who was taken by Lucifer as his consort.

In the manga and anime series Hozuki's Coolheadedness, Lilith is shown as a she-devil from The West whose duty is seduction.

Feminist symbolism
Some feminists have used Lilith as a symbol of empowerment.
